The vast majority of kids prefer sweet tastes, and probably the vast majority of adults, too!
Superfood Smoothies are sweet but not too sweet, and full of healthy energizing ingredients. It is a refreshing boost of energy made with varieties of fruits and a quick and easy way to get some much-needed energy especially on busy days!
The colour of this smoothie looks artificial because it's so brightly pigmented, but that’s the natural color of the dragon fruit, which is the main ingredient in this recipe, along with strawberries, bananas, lemon and coconut water.
Drinking fruit is not a bad idea, particularly for picky kids, well for anyone really. It is a perfect breakfast, snack as well as dessert.
Just throw everything into a blender and you have a mid-day treat you can feel good about! You can also make this recipe using regular milk instead of coconut water, or any fruits you have on hand.
When making smoothies with kids, I think it’s really important to get them involved. I noticed that kids love throwing different combinations of fruits into the blender and tried to guess what the final color of the smoothie will be.
One of the kid used to tell me, he didn’t like banana. But during this activity, even if he did notice the banana, it isn’t at all unpleasant. Yes, even though the boy doesn’t like banana, he does like the smoothie. It’s a great lesson to learn!

1 Thai coconut water
1 cup of yogurt
